AT ORGATEC FAIR
Susanne Philippson has also created the brand presentation of Lightnet, the contract lighting manufacturer with whom we have developed the Weave Perf® Acoustic Luminaires series. It will be possible to actually test and hear the effect of the new acoustic lights as they will be presented in a beautiful but sound reflective environment - a striking glass cube structure by french manufacturer Clestra Hausermann. A fresh yellow was chosen to highlight the groundbreaking series of lamps that are, in the flied of office interior lighting, indeed a true highlight themselves.

PRESENTED AT ORGATEC 2012
I have developed a series of office interior lighting that combines for the first time light, acoustics and transparency in one product family. Many years of reserach I had spent in the field of acoustics and saw the need to combine both light and acoustics in one product. With the Cologne based Contract Lighting Manufacturer Lightnet I had found the right partner to develop and produce a complete series of acoustic luminaires. The technical support and expert know how in Acoustics I then found at swiss based company Akustik&Innovation. With the amazing transparent fabric Weave Perf® we have succeeded to develop a visually light and delicate office interior lighting family and with more than 4 Million microscopically small slits per square meter we reach enormous high absorbing rates within the medium spectrum (50-100 Hz), equivalent to the human voice spectrum. I am happy to announce its launch at Orgatec fair, Lighting Competence Center, Hall 8 B019 E
AT EUREF CAMPUS BERLIN
We have once again collaborated with Welter Welter Architekten to realize the office interior of the newly founded research institute for global climate change MCC at the bustling EUREF Campus in Berlin. Old brick walls of the Wasserturm building contrast a sleek but also playful office interior. The lights have the shape of ventilators which is also a hint of the business background of the company and at the same time play with the origin of the lamps themselves. The energy consumed to produce those lamps comes solely from the power of wind.
AT LIGHT & BUILDING 2012
Susanne Philippson has teamed up with local lighting manufacturer MAWA Design to create a remarkable presentation at Frankfurt‘s Light & Building fair. A Porsche tractor seemingly pulls a trailor out of a barn, representing the high-tec manufactory which is actually neatly tucked into green fields of Brandenburg.
PRODUCED BY SUSANNE PHILIPPSON
The new ADAC headquarter in Munich, designed by architects Sauerbruch Hutton, gives Germany‘s largest automobile association an unmistakeable brand image. Susanne Philippson was selected to produce 65 white cylindric pendant lights, which now line up the ceiling of the Casino Cafeteria on the ground floor of the building.
NEUES PROJEKTZENTRUM BERLIN
The organization Stiftung Mercator opens it‘s new branch right at the Hackescher Markt in Berlin. Susanne Philippson has been part of the team for the interior design of the three story building, that has been reconstructed by Welter Welter architects Berlin. Susanne Philippson also launches her first series of acoustic pendant lights which give off indirect light while massively absorbing sound of the auditorium and hence help to create an ambient athmosphere.
TRADEFAIRSTAND FOR PALLUCCO
The design of the brand presentation at Euroluce 2011 marks not only the successful continuation of the collaboration between Pallucco and Susanne Philippson. This year‘s standdesign is especially magical as rotating vertical blinds open up in intervals to give a glance on the products and the interior of the stand.
Susanne Philippson teams up with the Fundamental Architecture Group to design both tradefair presentations of Pallucco in april 2010 with a striking minimal and expressive result.
ON THE THEME OF LIGHT & COLOUR
Four international designers ( Susanne Philippson,Max Lamb, Nizan Cohen & Camilla Diedrich ) have been invited to give lectures on the key themes of shape & function, material, design and colour & light at the Imm Cologne Furniture Fair to provide a more detailed insight into the trends of the moment. In her lecture Susanne has been speaking about reconciling futuristic lighting technologies, sensuality and lighting quality with sustainability.
DAYBED FIRST TIME PRESENTED IN BERLIN
The cutting edge daybed which Susanne Philippson developed with the viennese upholstery handcraft specialists Wittmann will be the first time presented in Berlin at the showroom of Arte Interior. In the designprocess Susanne took up the Wittmann slogan “When handcraft becomes art” and extended its meaning beyond “craftsmanship”. Unorthodoxdesign elements, unusual to upholstery, extended the definition of a traditional “real Wittmann”. The projectwas part of the Passionswege of the 2008 Vienna Design Week, initiated by Neigungsgruppe.Opening Hours: Tue - Fri 13.oo - 19.oo & Sat 12.oo - 16.ooh at the showroom Ansbacherstrasse 43, Berlin Opening Night: 15th Feb 2010
JANUARY FEBRUARY EDITION
A great article on my previous work, edited and written by Virginio Briatore, who did not forget to mention that Susanne Philippson was born in an area of Germany, that is called ‘ the valley of the clueless‘, a area not where people have no clue but had no receptionof west german television before the wall came down! That is Virginio.... See Full Article in the Press Overview also.

Another precondition for entry is that companies must have been nominated by the Ministriesand Senators of the Federal States or by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

THE THIRD SERIES OF LIGHTS FOR PALLUCCO
CRINOLINA is the name of the third family of lights Susanne Philippson designed for Pallucco. It differs much from the first two designs, Joiin and Guardian of Light as this lamp looks different from any angle looked at. It combines symmetric and asymmetric shapes at the same time. All three families of lamps were presented during the Euroluce Lighting Fair in Milan - high lighting a strong co-operation between the Treviso based manufacturer and the Berlin based designer for the past four years. From 31st of march until 2nd of April I will be part of the representative team of the Berlin creative sceneduring the event ‘20 Years of Change - Berlin Days in New York City’Infos: http://www.sei.berlin.de/newyork On 2nd of april I will give my third Pecha Kucha Presentationduring Pecha Kucha Night at the New Museum in New York in collaboration with CreateBerlin: http://www.create-berlin.de

CRAFTSMANSHIP & CUTTING EDGE DESIGN
Every Year the Vienna Designweek invites a selectionof designers to collaborate with traditional Viennese companies for the so called ‘Passionswege‘ project.( ways of passion ) Susanne Philippson has been invited to collaborate with the prestigious Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten, who for more than a hundred years have been creating traditional, hand-craftedupholstered furniture of highest quality.
For the Passionswege Philippson created a daybedfrom fine white leaher and polished stainless steel - a daybed that unites contemporary design with expertiseupholstery craftsmanship. Buttoned upholstered surfaces are comonly known to be homogeneousand symmetric. Philippson breaks wit this tradition and introduces an assymetric upholstered seatingsurface, which eventually breaks open into a flexible loose matrace that falls back to the ground at oneend - playing between functional design and cutting edge design-art.

KARAKTA & GUARDIAN AT ATELIERHAUS MUNICH
The Atelierhaus in Osterwaldstrasse 89, which sculptorand architect Hermann Rosa built in 1960 is an astonishing building which directly connects to thenew rationalism of the Bauhaus architecture. The space itself seems like a walk-in sculpture. Theselected furniture and lighting designs on display not only have to unite with that space but equally haveto cross the boundaries between architecture, art and design to give a homogenous impression to thespace and exhibition itself.
