TRADEFAIR STAND FOR LIGHTNET

AT ORGATEC FAIR

Susanne Philippson has also created the brand presentation of Lightnet, the contract lighting manufacturer with whom we have developed the Weave Perf® Acoustic Luminaires series. It will be possible to actually test and hear the effect of the new acoustic lights as they will be presented in a beautiful but sound reflective environment - a striking glass cube structure by french manufacturer Clestra Hausermann. A fresh yellow was chosen to highlight the groundbreaking series of lamps that are, in the flied of office interior lighting, indeed a true highlight themselves.

ACOUSTIC LUMINAIRES

PRESENTED AT  ORGATEC 2012

I have developed a series of office interior lighting that combines for the first time light, acoustics and transparency in one product family. Many years of reserach I had spent in the field of acoustics and saw the need to combine both light and acoustics in one product. With the Cologne based Contract Lighting Manufacturer Lightnet I had found the right partner to develop and produce a complete series of acoustic luminaires. The technical support and expert know how in Acoustics I then found at swiss based company Akustik&Innovation. With the amazing transparent fabric Weave Perf® we have succeeded to develop a visually light and delicate office interior lighting family and with more than 4 Million microscopically small slits per square meter we reach enormous high absorbing rates within the medium spectrum (50-100 Hz), equivalent to the human voice spectrum. I am happy to announce its launch at Orgatec fair, Lighting Competence Center, Hall 8 B019 E

OFFICE INTERIOR DESIGN

AT EUREF CAMPUS BERLIN

We have once again collaborated with Welter Welter Architekten to realize the office interior of the newly founded research institute for global climate change MCC at the bustling EUREF Campus in Berlin. Old brick walls of the Wasserturm building contrast a sleek but also playful office interior. The lights have the shape of ventilators which is also a hint of the business background of the company and at the same time play with the origin of the lamps themselves. The energy consumed to produce those lamps comes solely from the power of wind.

VIENNA DESIGN WEEK

CRAFTSMANSHIP & CUTTING EDGE DESIGN

Every Year the Vienna Designweek invites a selectionof designers to collaborate with traditional Viennese companies for the so called ‘Passionswege‘ project.( ways of passion ) Susanne Philippson has been invited to collaborate with the prestigious Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten, who for more than a hundred years have been creating traditional, hand-craftedupholstered furniture of highest quality.

For the Passionswege Philippson created a daybedfrom fine white leaher and polished stainless steel - a daybed that unites contemporary design with expertiseupholstery craftsmanship. Buttoned upholstered surfaces are comonly known to be homogeneousand symmetric. Philippson breaks wit this tradition and introduces an assymetric upholstered seatingsurface, which eventually breaks open into a flexible loose matrace that falls back to the ground at oneend - playing between functional design and cutting edge design-art.
